Dear Friends of the Campaign for Disability Employment (CDE), Greetings from the CDE, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)-funded initiative that showcases supportive, inclusive workplaces for all workers. National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is quickly approaching, and the official 2024 poster is now available! Please help spread the NDEAM spirit and order your copy of the poster today. NDEAM takes place annually each October, but its purpose is to confirm our commitment to ensuring disabled workers have access to good jobs, every month of every year. That’s the spirit behind this year’s official NDEAM theme: “Access to Good Jobs for All.” NDEAM is a fitting time to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. NDEAM is led by DOL’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, but its true spirit lies in the many observances held at the grassroots level across the nation every year. For ideas on how to get involved in NDEAM, visit dol.gov/ndeam. Suggestions range from simple, such as displaying the poster, to comprehensive, such as implementing a disability education program. No matter how you choose to take part, you’ll be playing an important role in fostering a more inclusive workforce, one where every person is recognized for their abilities—every day of every month. The CDE encourages organizations of all sizes and in all industries to participate in NDEAM. Please let us know how you’re celebrating! Sincerely, Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, the Campaign for Disability Employment (CDE) is a multi-organization public education campaign that showcases supportive, inclusive workplaces for all workers. Navigating Bullying with the Help of the Disability & Aging Crime Victims Unit (DACVU) "We COULD NOT have gone through this school mess with our son without DRC's help. Our son was getting bullied/hit at middle school. He is non-verbal and incontinent. The school moved him to a spot with no camera view and they were not going to add cameras. We didn't know what we could or couldn't do—we didn't know our rights. They didn't make changes until we got DRC involved. The help was invaluable. Very grateful!" -Stephanie, Parent New Resource: Students with Disabilities & Bullying Do you have a child with a disability who is being bullied in school?
