Team—as we face down our April fundraising deadline tonight, I’m reminded of a wisecrack Mitch McConnell made a few months ago belittling this grassroots team, saying “they don’t know who [Amy] is, but they know who I am.”

The joke’s on Mitch: Since he said that, this grassroots team has completely closed the fundraising gap—and tonight, we’re looking to start pulling away. If you can, please consider making a donation before midnight:

I’ve been so proud and grateful to watch this team adapt to the challenging times we’re in and come through at critical moments like the one we’re facing tonight. From day one, our campaign has been built by people chipping in a few dollars at a time.

That stands in stark contrast to how Mitch built his campaign—check out this list of top funders in this election (thanks to the Center for Responsive Politics):

NorPAC: $160,075
Votesane PAC: $126,650
Alrtia Group: $121,150
United Parcel Service: $116,837
Eli Lilly and Co: $109,661

It’s a who’s who of powerful special interests from the insurance industry, pharmaceutical companies—you name it. With opposition like this, the fact that we’ve already closed the fundraising gap is a testament to the grit and heart of this team. But it also means that Mitch and his allies are starting to hit back harder—he’s had nasty ads on the air for weeks.

The progress we make before tonight’s deadline will go a long way in deciding how strongly we can fend off these attacks and set ourselves up for a win in November. And in this moment, we’re counting on online donations more than ever.

If you’re able to, chip in before the deadline and let’s show Mitch that we know exactly who he is, and we know Amy is the candidate who can beat him:
