For the first time ever--for a Democrat or Republican--a presidential candidate is placing abortion as the number-one issue.
For better or worse, Americans generally don't like the culture war being the top issue. Not to mention that most abortion supporters see it as a depressing topic. For them, abortion is typically seen as a necessary evil, not an inspirational goal to be celebrated.
