Friend,
We need your help. While we are all focusing on the pandemic, corporate
polluters are fully exploiting the crisis. Through the course of this
crisis, the Trump administration has made it pretty clear whose side they
are on (hint: it is not the environment).
Here are a number of ways corporate polluters are taking advantage of the
pandemic:
* [ [link removed] ]The [ [link removed] ]plastic bag industry is actively working to block laws that
ban single-use plastic, citing that reusable plastic bags put
Americans at risk. ([ [link removed] ]California’s ban)
* [ [link removed] ]GM & Toyota are siding with the Trump administration against
California’s ability to set our own auto emissions standards.
* [ [link removed] ]The EPA suspended enforcement of environmental laws.
* [ [link removed] ]The EPA won’t limit mercury and other harmful pollutants from power
plants, which would increase air pollution during a public health
crisis.
We cannot allow corporate polluters to take advantage of COVID-19. We have
been given the opportunity to re-evaluate our ways of life and transform
our economy. Moving toward a sustainable and clean future will not only
create new opportunities, but protect the future of our planet.
We cannot fight against Big Oil and corporate polluters alone.

We only have 10 years to lessen the impacts of the climate crisis. We
can’t solve the coronavirus crisis by going backwards on climate action.
As always, thank you for your support!
In solidarity,

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
