Dear John,
As far as the Republicans on the House Appropriations Committee are concerned, Project 2025 is already here.
They’ve voted to completely terminate all funding for Title X family planning and preventive healthcare services in 2025. This will cut off services to 2.6 million low-income families, including:
-
Contraception
-
Natural family planning & birth spacing
-
STI and HIV testing and treatment
-
Infertility services
-
Breast and pelvic exams
-
Cervical cancer screenings, and
-
Community outreach and education
With the Republicans posing as if they represent the working class, these cuts exemplify what they really feel toward their non-billionaire constituents. They can offer billions in tax cuts to the super-rich who don’t need these services, but if you’re low-income, you’re on your own.
The funding bill is now leaving the committee, headed to the House floor for a vote. That means, soon this proposal will be voted on by the whole U.S. House and we need to stop it now. This is the time to send your representative a message.
Send a direct message to your congressional representative: Don't cut Title X funding! Maintain birth control access and reproductive health for millions of Americans now.
Project 2025 calls for eliminating the phrase “reproductive rights” from all federal regulations. Having succeeded at overturning Roe v. Wade, the termination of all Title X funding is another big step toward completely doing away with women’s rights.
Trump used to brag about packing the Supreme Court with judges selected for their willingness to overturn Roe v. Wade. But now, facing a backlash from most Americans who don’t want women to lose their reproductive rights, they did not even use the word “abortion” once during the Republican convention. This echoes how they’re trying to hide their commitment to Project 2025.
Donald Trump lies, saying that he knows “nothing” about Project 2025, but make no mistake: This current assault on birth control is straight out of the GOP playbook.
Send your message to Congress: Protect funding for Title X. Ensure millions of Americans are able to access contraception now.
Thank you for keeping reproductive rights in our nation’s vocabulary!
