I know I’ve been communicating with you a lot recently about our community’s response to COVID-19. But today, I wanted to fill you in on the state of my re-election campaign.

Unfortunately our opponent, Joe Arpaio, outraised us in the first three months of the year, thanks to his wealthy out-of-state friends.

The COVID-19 pandemic is consuming a lot of our time as we continue adjusting our response to abide with the latest advice from public health officials, connecting folks with the resources they need, and protecting the most vulnerable in our community.

Furthermore, social distancing has put an abrupt end to all in-person campaign events, which means we’re relying on emails like this one for grassroots support and donations.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you today -- to ask for your help raising the last $1,306 of our end-of-month goal before midnight tonight. Will you be the one to put us over the top?
