I’ve known Elizabeth for over 20 years — as her law student, as a researcher working alongside her to study why so many families were going bankrupt, and now as a colleague in Congress holding the Trump administration accountable and fighting for working people.
Here’s what I know: Elizabeth’s a fighter. Right now, she’s leading the charge to put working people front and center as we recover from the coronavirus crisis and rebuild our country.
But she doesn’t stop there. She is also fighting for progressive candidates in close races all across the country. I know because in 2018, I was one of them — and Elizabeth was there every step of the way to help my campaign flip my district blue for the first time in over 30 years.
And this November’s election is no different — because Elizabeth knows that our best shot at leveling the playing field for working families is by winning the White House, taking back the Senate, protecting the House majority, and winning in state legislatures across the country in November.
That’s a big part of why she created Warren Democrats: to support progressive candidates in close races this year. They have already endorsed twenty progressive candidates, including me — and Elizabeth’s support has already made a powerful difference for our campaigns.
Tonight is a big fundraising deadline for Warren Democrats — and how much they raise will determine the investments they can make in the weeks and months ahead.
I know first-hand how important close races are in determining majorities in Congress: In 2018, I challenged a Republican and won one of the closest races of the election — and helped put Democrats in control of the House.
Warren Democrats is laser-focused on supporting campaigns like mine so Democrats can win big in 2020, take back control in Washington, and lead our country out of this crisis.
But just like during her presidential campaign, Elizabeth doesn't host closed-door fundraisers or spend time cozying up to millionaires, billionaires, or corporate executives for donations. Warren Democrats is powered by grassroots donors like you.
