What's On In September?

Softie (2020)

This September on POV, we observe Hispanic Heritage Month and spark critical new conversations on Preserving Democracy all over the world.

For Hispanic Heritage Month ([link removed]) , POV is proud to showcase a curated collection celebrating the global multitude of Latinx and Spanish-language stories. Featuring standout titles such as The Last Out ([link removed]) , Bulls and Saints ([link removed]) , and La Casa de Mama Icha ([link removed]) , this collection seamlessly threads tales of migration, love, cultural roots, and resilience. Join us in exploring these unforgettable narratives that resonate across borders and cultures.

In times of deep political divides, active civic participation is essential to sustaining a vibrant democracy. In collaboration with Preserving Democracy, a public media initiative of The WNET Group, we present Democracy Rising ([link removed]) to commemorate International Day of Democracy ([link removed]) . This playlist features voices on the frontlines of change who challenge us to reflect on the essence of democracy and what we must strive to protect and preserve. Discover more at pbs.org/preservingdemocracy and join the dialogue.
