[1]Sarah McBride - Democrat for Congress
[ [link removed] ]USA TODAY: Sarah McBride could become the first trans person elected to
Congress. It's about time.
Sarah McBride is no stranger to firsts.
In 2012, Sarah was the first openly trans woman to work at the White
House, as an intern for President Obama.
In 2016, she was the first openly trans person to speak at the Democratic
National Convention.
And in 2020, Sarah became the first openly trans person elected to a State
Senate, chosen by her neighbors in the first district of Delaware (which
just so happens to be the first state to have signed the U.S.
Constitution).
But she can’t keep breaking barriers without our help. With the
far-right’s coordinated attacks on LGBTQIA+ rights and representation, we
can’t expect anyone to offer us a seat in the halls of power — we have to
claim it.
In six days, Sarah will face her biggest test yet: securing the Democratic
nomination to represent Delaware in the U.S. House. [ [link removed] ]Can you donate
$5 (or any amount) to Sarah’s historic campaign before
Tuesday’s primary to get her one big step closer to becoming the first
openly trans member of Congress?
