John,

On Monday night, Tucker Carlson reached a new low when he hosted Holocaust denier and Nazi apologist Darryl Cooper on his podcast show. Carlson called Cooper “the best and most honest popular historian in the United States.”

Cooper has referred to Winston Churchill as the “chief villain” and the person most responsible for World War II. He also claims the Holocaust was an accident in which Germany made a “humane” choice to not let their people starve to death.

Carlson is facing immense backlash for platforming Cooper, but this is part of a long-standing pattern.

On Monday, Carlson sat starstruck by his favorite historian as Cooper falsely claimed Hitler sought peace during World War II and conducted the Holocaust as a “humane” alternative to German citizens dying of starvation in the war-torn country.

The backlash was swift, with pundits like Liz Cheney and Mark Cuban tweeting their astonishment at the interview on X . Elon Musk, who had previously called the interview “very interesting” and “worth watching,” even deleted his post backing Carlson.

But this type of problematic platforming isn’t new, John. It’s part of a long pattern for Tucker Carlson.

Remember his interview with Vladimir Putin earlier this year? Or the hundreds of times he promoted the racist Great Replacement theory on his Fox News show? Or the water he carried for Trump’s stolen election conspiracy in 2020 and 2021?

There’s no sign he’s going to change his problematic behavior now, especially since he has an audience of millions tuning in to his shows every day. That means we have to stop him.

Here at COURIER, we work around the clock to disprove right-wing lies and misinformation, especially on the social media networks Carlson uses to promote his show.
