Friend,

We're less than 36 hours away from our Spring Campaign deadline, and in
our entire history, we have never had to run a fundraising campaign at a
time like this.

More than 30 million people have now lost their jobs or been furloughed.
With May 1 rent due, many of our readers are facing possible eviction.
We know that many of our readers want to donate but simply can't.

Meanwhile, we're shattering records for website visitors as people
desperately seek out reliable news. We don't even want to consider
dialing back our reporting. But it's not just restaurants that are
hurting. Nonprofit organizations and the journalism industry are
announcing layoffs all over the country.

This is a moment when we all must come together and pitch in. Every
little bit helps. We're still $25,000 short, but together, we can make
it through.

Please donate whatever you can to help keep Common Dreams and our
nonprofit independent journalism alive.
