September Service Change: More Trips to Serve You

September Service Change

Our Sept. 8, 2024, service change marks the final step in a series of 17 incremental adjustments that began in June 2020, aimed at restoring our service levels to those before the COVID-19 pandemic. With this latest change, we will exceed our pre-pandemic service levels, reaching 102 percent of the service we provided prior to the pandemic.

Routes 12, 13, 41, 62A, 62B, 65, and 66 will have late night service restored on weekdays and weekends. In addition, Route 41 will have extended late night service on Friday and Saturday nights when The Evergreen State College is in session.

Ride the Bus to Falls Fest

Ride the bus to Falls Fest

Celebrate the transition to fall and soak in the beautiful fall colors at Falls Fest at Brewery Park at Tumwater Falls on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event celebrates Tumwater Falls as a sacred and historically-significant place, while honoring arts, heritage and the environment within our community.

Keep School Zones Safe

Keep School Zones Safe

Summer is coming to an end and students are returning to school. Follow these tips to help keep our school zones safe for all students:

* Be prepared for congestion when traveling through school zones and, if possible, adjust your route to avoid them.
* Slow down! The speed limit in school zones is 20 miles per hour.
* Stop for pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.
* Watch out for school crossing guards and obey their signals.
* Stop for school buses that are loading and unloading students.
* Be extra cautious around children, they are still learning how to be safe pedestrians and bicyclists.

If you plan to drop-off and pick-up a student, here are a few extra tips to keep in mind:

* Know and follow your school’s drop-off and pick-up procedures.
* Don't double park or block bike lanes or cross walks.
* Help improve the air quality around your school by turning your car off while you wait.
* Consider reducing traffic congestion around the school by carpooling or parking at least a half mile away and walking to school.

Remind drivers to slow down by displaying traffic safety yard signs around your school. Visit intercitytransit.com/yard-signs [ [link removed] ] to learn more and find locations where you can pick-up a free sign for your school or neighborhood.
