Begins with Home invites you to Stories of Home, a premiere and celebration of seven new short videos from our Housing Justice Storytelling Initiative, on Tuesday, September 17 from 6-8 PM PT at the CZI Community Space in Redwood City.

Seven organizations working across the housing justice field participated in this initiative's pilot, led by All Home with support from NPH. Join us for the official premiere of these new stories and get inspired to use storytelling in the movement for housing justice. The event is free, but registration is required!

👏 Celebrate our BAHIP Grads & New Cohort

Earlier this summer, NPH’s 6th Bay Area Housing Internship Program (BAHIP) cohort completed their program! Throughout the program year, our interns gained the skills and hands-on experience needed to jumpstart a career in affordable housing real estate development and project management. View their graduation photos and graduate work portfolios!

Passing the Torch Cohort 7 recently started their year-long journey at their respective host agencies. These new BAHIPers look ahead to a year of activities, trainings, networking, and events led by NPH and our partners and other professionals, that cover real estate development, housing policy and advocacy, and soft skills training, such as communications, workplace culture, and more.

📝 The Importance of Public Funding: New Terner Center Report

Most Bay Area households are impacted in some way by the region’s ongoing affordability crisis, but a new brief from the Terner Center for Housing Innovation explores how public funding has the power to address the crisis by increasing the supply of affordable housing, preserving existing affordable housing stock, and keeping renters stably housed.

The Terner Center brief highlights that at the heart of the crisis is a lack of housing supply and housing subsidy and how critical it is that the state and localities expand funding dedicated to affordable housing production. Use this new report to help make the case for affordable housing solutions in your community!
