Former North Carolina porn shop employee says Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson was a regular customer
It appears that Mark Robinson, who already has "Holocaust denier," "virulent homophobe," and "Girl Scout scammer" on his resume, can now add "chronic masturbator" to that list. North Carolina porn store employee Louis Money, 52, told The Assembly that Robinson came in as often as FIVE nights a week to watch X-rated adult videos in a private booth. Five other employees confirmed the report. In addition, Money said Robinson purchased “hundreds” of bootleg porn videos that Money sold on the side, including “super hardcore” films he acquired in New York City that were too risqué to be sold in North Carolina, one of which Robinson actually still owes him $25 for. This all took place after Robinson supposedly found Jesus and dedicated his life to his savior. But as Robinson himself noted, “My behavior did not immediately reform. They say sin is fun for a season, and I was in that season." Sin season seems to have been EXTREMELY long and busy for the gubernatorial hopeful, who is currently trailing his Democratic opponent, Josh Stein, by nearly 9 points. [RETWEET THAT!]

New York Democrats fear abortion-rights amendment is faltering
The New York Democratic Party, whose stunning incompetence is largely responsible for the failure to retake the US House in the 2022 midterms, is looking to fumble the bag once again by refusing to spend money fighting for a state constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to reproductive choice in the deep-blue state. At issue is language in the amendment pledging basic rights for LGBTQ people, which right-wing, anti-LGBTQ groups are predictably targeting. The Democratic committee formed to push the equality amendment in New York has raised less than $3 million — far below the $20 million threshold pledged at the end of last year. GOP smear attacks falsely claim the amendment would harm children, and polls show these arguments can be effective if there's no pushback. If New York Democrats won't fight for LGBTQ rights in one of the bluest states in the country, then what are we even doing here?

So far, the convicted felon and his team have insulted the Secretary of the Army, painted Trump as a victim of a smear, labeled the entire affair a “hoax,” concocted allegations about White House involvement, and attacked Vice President Harris. On Tuesday, Trump claimed that there was actually no conflict and that it was a "made-up story by Comrade Kamala" which is, of course, categorically and demonstrably false. But Trump has no use for the truth or respect for reality and will continue telling the most outrageously egregious lies until someone takes his soapbox away.

After rigging the nüTwitter algorithm to give himself one of the most powerful social media accounts in the world, Elon Musk has been using it to push patently false, usually very racist, and always very stupid election misinformation that is then shoved into the feeds of hundreds of millions of people around the world. A new report from CCDH, a nonprofit organization focused on protecting civil liberties and holding social media companies accountable, found that 50 false or misleading posts shared by Musk on X between January 1 and July 31 of this year racked up a staggering 1.2 billion views. The majority of the posts focus on the white supremacist "great replacement" conspiracy theory, baseless conspiracies about voter fraud, and deepfaked videos or AI pictures of Kamala Harris. It is a serious threat to the integrity of the 2024 election that cannot be underestimated.
