2025 CLDP Applications Are Live! ([link removed])
Dear John,

Applications for MPAC's Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP) are now open! CLDP stands as a beacon for young Muslims determined to chart their path in the halls of power. From the moment they enter the program, fellows step into a legacy of trailblazers, learning how to navigate the landscape of public service and embrace their identities as sources of strength. Breaking barriers and fostering confidence, CLDP empowers its fellows with the courage to claim a seat at the table, affirming that they not only belong in influential spaces like Capitol Hill but also have the right to shape the conversations unfolding there. More than just a path to career advancement, CLDP offers a unique opportunity to redefine what it means to be Muslim in America.

At a politically intense moment in our nation’s history, nurturing the next generation of Muslim leaders is more important than ever. As many of our fellows lend their voices to advocate for the people of Palestine, Sudan, Congo, India, Myanmar and beyond—speaking out about the atrocious human rights abuses facing each of these communities—their actions speak to the urgency of the moment, reflecting both their commitment to justice and their growing frustration with leaders who fall short. Their involvement in policy and public service ensures that diverse perspectives are represented and that their communities are fiercely advocated for. CLDP isn’t just shaping the leaders for today—it’s laying the foundation for a future where inclusive leadership becomes the standard.
“The mentorship I received during the program was nothing short of exceptional. The guidance and support from the mentors were instrumental in my personal and professional development. Their encouragement and advice played a crucial role in helping me navigate my career path and seize opportunities. One of the most significant outcomes of my involvement with CLDP was securing an internship with a Congressman from Indiana. This position not only allowed me to apply what I had learned but also led to a full-time role upon graduation. The skills and knowledge I gained through CLDP directly contributed to my success in this role. I am proud to now hold a federal position in the House of Representatives, a milestone that would not have been possible without the foundation laid by the CLDP program.”

The mentorship provided through CLDP is transformative, teaching fellows to navigate the complexities of Capitol Hill by fully embracing their identities. It’s a powerful reminder that our young leaders' voices carry weight, their perspectives matter, and their stories are essential in challenging dominant narratives. CLDP encourages its fellows not only to lead but to passionately champion the causes closest to their hearts—ensuring that these issues are heard and drive meaningful action.

To our past cohorts and future fellows: Your courage and commitment inspire us all. You belong in every room where decisions are made. You don’t just have the right to take up space—you have the power to forge a new path entirely. The world needs your voice, your perspective, and your unyielding dedication to justice. MPAC provides the access; you all change the game. Together, we will continue to cultivate new leaders who embody integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to truth.

You are the future of American Muslim leadership, and your time is now.

With gratitude,
Rebecca Husaini
Vice President of Operations and Administration
