Friend, if you know me, you know I love Florida — the people, the culture, the weather, and our incredible wildlife. That's why in honor of National Wildlife Day, I'm reaching out to remind you why I'm running to defeat Rick Scott and protect Florida’s unique environment.

Our state parks are a big part of what makes Florida so beautiful. And that's because they're more than just land, friend. They’re home to our incredible wildlife and centuries-old history.

Because we're one of the most biodiverse states in the country, it's important for us to protect our state parks. That's what Floridians want, and that's what I want.

But my extremist opponent, Rick Scott, is trying to destroy our state's natural beauty. Instead of moving conservation efforts forward, he wanted to sell our public lands for profit and develop golf courses.

We can't let that happen, friend. Unlike Rick Scott, you can count on me to respect the parks you and I love — and my track record while I was in Congress proves it:

* I fought tirelessly to bolster the natural resilience of our Everglades and wetlands from profit-driven overdevelopment;
* I fought to fortify our beaches and safeguard the stunning coral reefs (the only living barrier reefs in the United States) extending along the Keys; and
* I fought to conserve the countless precious species that make Florida one of the most biodiverse states in the country.

In the Senate, I'm committed to fighting for our state and everything that makes it beautiful, including our state parks — but I can't get there on my own. So please, friend:

In honor of National Wildlife Day, will you chip in $5 — or whatever you can spare before midnight tonight — and join me in the fight to retire Rick Scott, protect Florida, and keep the Senate blue?
