As you know, STOP THE TRAFFIK was featured on BBC Radio 4 for the first time last month. Longtime supporter of STOP THE TRAFFIK and beloved sports presenter, Simon Thomas, shared the story of a young boy we helped find safety and avoid exploitation.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, all of you, we raised over £20,000, which will be doubled by our match funder.

Shockingly, 1 in 3 victims of human trafficking are children. In the UK, child criminal exploitation, such as county lines where children are forced to move and sell drugs across the country, remains a significant issue affecting young lives. Funds from this appeal will help STOP THE TRAFFIK to expand and scale existing work to reduce child criminal exploitation in the UK and amplify a national campaign to keep young people safe from harm. We will publish more about this work in the coming year.

The International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, was established by UNESCO in 2016 to commemorate the uprising in Saint Domingue (now Haiti) against French colonial rule in 1791. This rebellion was pivotal in the eventual abolition of the transatlantic slave trade. The day serves as a global reminder of the horrors of slavery, where millions of Africans were forcibly transported and subjected to brutal conditions in the Americas.
