Dear John,

Stay locked outside in the cold and risk freezing to death
OR
Come inside, risk being attacked and forced to fight to survive?

This is the problem that too many lemurs face right now in captivity in the UK. But it doesn't have to be this way? We must END CAPTIVITY!

Lemurs are a primate very commonly seen within zoos. In our recent investigations into Cumbria Safari Zoo (AKA South Lakes Zoo), we documented a litany of issues with the lemurs held captive there.

Investigators heard staff discuss lemurs staying outside at night to escape the overcrowded cages inside, with some having frozen to death. They also noted broken tails, fingers, and gashes to the bodies of other lemurs.
Overcrowding and overbreeding issues will have been a real factor in all of this.

There are so many examples of cruelty to primates in captivity across the UK and Ireland. The only way to fight for them is to share their stories and advocate for their freedom.

We urgently need you to speak out and stand up as an ally for animals. So please, will you join us as one of our new Freedom Champions?

By joining us and making a monthly donation, you will help to expose the dark side of captivity that zoos don’t want the world to see. You will play a critical role in stopping this cruelty.

🦧 £5 a month could equip grassroots groups with materials to demonstrate outside of a zoo, turning the public away from this cruelty

πŸ’ Β£10 a month will power our ongoing work with whistleblowers, uncovering the hidden truth of animal suffering and putting in place actions to make a change

🐡 £20 a month could help fund one undercover investigation to expose the horrors of captivity and enable us to seek justice for animals

P.S. Sadly, the lemurs stories at Cumbria Safari Zoo are not unique. We must take action for them now, we must come together and fight for their freedom. ([link removed])
