As we get closer and closer to the final buzzer, it’s become increasingly clear that Alison Esposito, Pat’s GOP opponent, has realized she is way out of step with the Hudson Valley on abortion rights. And that’s a problem — because voters are pissed off about extremist Republicans trying to take away their freedoms.

Over the next 9 weeks, we fully expect Alison to attempt to mislead voters and rewrite history to make it look like she’s on the side of freedom. She knows this race will come down to just a handful of votes, and she’ll say anything to take the upper hand.

So let’s review the record, shall we?

First of all, Alison previously pledged to ban abortion from conception when she ran for Lieutenant Governor in 2022.

Second of all, in a 2023 interview with WAMC , Esposito called the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade and led to draconian abortion bans in over a dozen states, the “absolute right thing.”

And finally, of course, she has endorsed (and has received the endorsement of) Donald Trump — the same president who hand-picked the right-wing justices who overturned Roe , whose extreme Project 2025 agenda calls for a nationwide abortion ban, and who has bragged about making the Dobbs decision happen.
