Dear John ,

Doctors, nurses, NHS and care staff are working around the clock to save lives. But the government has made their job harder, and endangered their lives, as Tuesday's Panorama revealed.

The uncomfortable truth is that the government has left us unprepared for coronavirus by handing out chunks of NHS staff and services to private companies.

Tell Health Minister Matt Hancock to stop giving private contracts to his friends and to let our NHS get on with saving lives.

Sign our petition to end NHS outsourcing now

Because of this history of privatisation and cuts, we're all at risk:

  • Staff STILL don’t have PPE to protect them
  • Hospitals are less safe
  • Testing is being put at risk
  • Privatisation is wasting money and time
Matt Hancock knows that the safety and security of our NHS is the TOP priority of everyone in the country right now. He also knows that the failures of his government to look after our NHS will come back to bite him.

The links between privatisation and coronavirus failures are clear. We've never had a bigger opportunity to put an end to privatisation and outsourcing once and for all.

Tell Matt Hancock to put staff and patients first:
Yes! I'll add my name
We're demanding that Matt Hancock, as Health Secretary, does three things as a matter of urgency:
  1. Make sure all staff have the PPE and testing they need - the NHS should be in charge of this emergency
  2. Bring all outsourced staff back into the NHS family after everything they’ve done for us
  3. Reinstate our NHS as a fully public service as soon as this crisis is over

With the right amount of pressure right now, we can turn the tide on NHS privatisation, and make sure that our health service emerges from this crisis stronger and more resilient than before.

A huge thank you to all of you who are making it possible for us to fight so hard for our NHS at this time, against privatisation and the threat of trade deals.

Solidarity,

Cat, Pascale, Alice, Chris, and Ellen - the We Own It team

PS If you missed it, Cat set out the scandal of the accountancy firm Deloitte mishandling coronavirus testing in this video. Watch it and then sign the petition!
