James, we fell
just short of our August fundraising goal. Here’s why that’s so
concerning:

Donald Trump is expanding his voter outreach in Philadelphia and other big
Democratic cities (our organizers have seen it with their own eyes). Nate
Silver is calling the election a dead heat. Bernie is warning that this
will be a “rough” election and that we must do everything we can to defeat
Trump and elect VP Harris.

This is not the time for our grassroots movement to slow down. Coming out
of Labor Day weekend, we’re trying to ramp up our organizing efforts in 7
battleground states, contact 5 million progressive voters, and win the
presidency, House and Senate. But we can’t do that if we rely only on
energy and vibes — we need the organizing, mobilizing, and small-dollar
fundraising to win.

It’s our organizing that can make the difference in turning out the
progressive voters we need to defeat Trump. That’s why Bernie is ready to
do everything he can to help VP Harris win.

If Trump makes inroads in blue cities, he could pull enough votes from
Harris and win. There’s a reason election forecasters like Silver — who
predicted Trump’s win in 2016 — aren’t sure who is best positioned to take
the White House.

We’ve all got a stake in this election, and we all need to do our part to
ensure we win not only the White House, but also the House and Senate.
That’s the best chance we’ve got as a movement to pressure Congress to
pass our progressive economic agenda.

We have just 62 days until Election Day, and much less time in states with
early voting starting soon. That means we need to reverse our fundraising
