Our plan to elect Colin Allred and defeat Ted Cruz comes down to simple math, John. Let's break down the numbers:

Right now, there are a little over 30 million people living in Texas, and 21,925,627 of them are old enough to vote. But in Ted Cruz's last election, just 8,371,655 people actually voted.

Democrats lost that race by 2.6%, and a brand-new poll shows us within 2 points. So our thinking is, if we can get just 3% more people to vote this year – that's a few hundred thousand across the second biggest state in the country – we can FINALLY send Ted Cruz packing.

But we believe we can do even better than that, especially after Colin's electrifying speech at the DNC almost two weeks ago. Texans are FIRED UP and ready for change. But we're counting on your grassroots support to help Colin continue reaching voters and get out the vote on Election Day!

Unfortunately, Texas is one of the hardest states in the country to cast a ballot thanks to a wave of GOP-led voter suppression laws.

They require voters to register a full 30 days before Election Day but don't allow online registration, severely limit who can vote by mail, intentionally create longer lines at polling places by limiting the hours and number of locations, and have some of the strictest voter ID laws in the country.

This all means it is that much more important for our team to be out there helping people register in time, making sure they know the laws and their rights, and getting them out to the polls on Election Day.
