Friends, Ayanna Pressley here.

When I first ran for Congress in 2018, pundits and pollsters alike said I didn’t have a chance. The closest poll said we were going to lose by 20 points.

But 60,046 voters went to the ballot box, colored in that little circle next to my name and put their hope and trust in us that our government could do more and do better. We campaigned on a new kind of politics — one about transformation, not transaction.

We won by a decisive 16 points.

Three terms in, it is still an honor and a privilege to be the Congresswoman from the MA 7th. Together we have made real, tangible change — canceling student debt, fighting for environmental justice, supporting mutual aid, and organizing to restore and protect abortion access.

Our next primary election is today. Election cycle pundits and pollsters have been down and out about Democrats, progressives, and our movement this cycle. But you and I know that the power of the people has always been greater than the people in power.

I believe that primaries matter deeply — from rural districts in “red states” to urban cities in “blue states.” We organize not for a single election cycle, but for a more just world. This is a chance for our progressive movement to demonstrate its strength, in Massachusetts and across the country. If you believe in the world that we’re building, can you please split a donation of $5 or anything you can between our re-election campaign and Ilhan's today to power our movement?

We take nothing for granted and we organize daily to build community in the Massachusetts 7th district, to fight for our fundamental rights, and to build a more just world together.

Whether we’re up against millions of Republican dark money dollars pouring into House elections to dissuade voters, or bad weather that makes it hard for our neighbors to get to their polling place, we take on each challenge with conviction and strategy.

That strategy takes real resources — and this campaign truly operates with the $3, $5, and $20 donations we receive from these emails.

So before our primary election in Massachusetts today, can you please split a contribution of $5 or anything you can between this campaign and Ilhan so we can organize and turn out voters in our district and campaign for our progressive values up and down the ballot and across the country?

Grateful everyday for your partnership and your faith in me.

With gratitude,

Ayanna
