John — I just want to start this month by saying thank you. Truly.
My organization, the Jane Fonda Climate PAC, is working around the clock to make this election year truly remarkable for the climate movement, and your dedication to our mission is making a real difference.
You deserve to know exactly what your support has been helping us accomplish, so I wanted to take this moment to share an update on what my team has been up to lately:
Primary Election Results
In Arizona, we achieved a clean sweep in the July 30 primary, with all 11 of our endorsed candidates advancing to the general election, paving the path to secure a pro-climate majority in November. In Michigan, our four endorsed climate champions also won their primaries, ensuring that the momentum for clean energy and environmental reforms continues to build. In Texas, Molly Cook made history as the first openly LGBTQ+ member of the Texas State Senate by winning the District 15 special election. And in California, Laura Friedman emerged victorious in a competitive 15-way primary to succeed Adam Schiff in Congress.
Our Latest Endorsements in Colorado and California
JanePAC recently endorsed a powerful slate of local climate champions who are pivotal to the future of both Colorado and California’s climate efforts. These states face enormous challenges: Colorado is home to some of the most polluted zip codes in the country, with communities like Commerce City where children are suffering from asthma and respiratory illnesses caused by corporate polluters. Despite being a “blue” state, Colorado isn’t a green state. State government continues to ramp up oil and gas exports, so it’s clear that local leadership is more crucial than ever.
In California, the battle is just as intense. As one of the nation’s top oil-drilling states, California has seen oil giants like Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Shell pour millions into defeating climate-minded candidates. Californians deserve leaders who will fight back against these polluters and prioritize the health of their communities. JanePAC has already endorsed over 60 candidates at every level of government. Each endorsement is strategic in that the policy implications for climate are immediate and tangible, and every candidate has a path to victory. We're also proud to provide crucial financial resources to the candidates we endorse — a commitment that’s only possible because of the grassroots supporters like YOU who donate to JanePAC.
And this is just the beginning. We have a major lineup of endorsements coming up this month, so keep an eye out! You can always check out our latest endorsements and see who we’re supporting here. With Election Day just around the corner, it’s going to take all of us working together to push these climate champions across the finish line.
JanePAC on the ground
Last month, we also held some incredible volunteer recruitment events. From packed houses in Los Angeles to a virtual rally that connected passionate climate advocates from all over the country, we’ve been bringing people together to build the grassroots power we need to win this November! If you’re interested in joining our volunteer team, you can check out our opportunities here.
John, this is what the power of your support looks like.
