Friend,
I hope you had a restful Labor Day. In case you missed it, our KDP Chair, Colmon Elridge, penned an op-ed this weekend that speaks directly to the heart of what we’re fighting for in Kentucky. You can read it here: Labor Day Op-ed. [[link removed]]
This Labor Day, we reflected on the immense contributions that unions have made to our Commonwealth and our country. Unions built America’s middle class and fought for the worker protections we rely on today. But right now, those very protections are under attack.
From GOP-led “right-to-work” laws designed to weaken unions, to recent efforts to roll back child labor protections, it’s clear that the fight for workers’ rights is far from over. Yet, despite these challenges, union membership in Kentucky is on the rise. That’s a testament to the resilience and determination of Kentucky’s working people.
Governor Andy Beshear stands with workers, whether it’s joining picket lines or advocating for policies that support working families. Under his leadership, nearly 55,000 jobs have been created, and average hourly wages have reached new heights. But we’re just getting started.
Kentucky Democrats are committed to fighting alongside labor to push back against any anti-worker legislation. Our vision is an economy where every worker has a fair shot at the American Dream.
We can’t do this without your support. Will you chip in $10, $25, or whatever you can today to help us continue the fight for Kentucky’s working families?
