** One in four LGBT people experienced food insecurity in the past year

Nearly 27% of LGBT people, an estimated 3,029,000 adults, experienced food insecurity in the past year. The current pandemic and the resulting economic downturn are likely to have a major impact on hunger among LGBT people, particularly women, people of color, young adults, and those with low incomes who have particularly high rates of food insecurity.

** 320,000 transgender adults with underlying medical conditions at risk of serious COVID-19 illness
------------------------------------------------------------
An estimated 319,800 U.S. adults who identify as transgender have one or more medical conditions, including asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or HIV. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has indicated that adults with underlying medical conditions and older adults are at high risk for COVID-19. Approximately 217,000 transgender adults are age 65 and older.
