Hi john,
Y’all…we are TIRED! AAF just got back from a week in Chicago evangelizing about medication abortion to anyone and everyone we could find who showed up for the Democratic National Convention!
And how did we do it you ask…
Meet Mife and the Misotones!
A group of six individuals dressed in large, round abortion pill costumes, each labeled with the words ''MISO'' or ''MIFE,'' are walking down a city street. The people are smiling and giving thumbs up while holding drinks. Behind them, several large protest signs are being held by other individuals. The signs have messages related to abortion rights, including one that says ''We’re Abortion AF'' with a QR code, another that reads ''UNSCIENTIFIC AMERICAN,'' and others that provide information on medication abortion protocols. In the background, tall buildings and a clear blue sky indicate an urban setting. The image has an ''AF'' logo in the bottom right corner. [[link removed]]
By creating a pop group made up of abortion pills that sang, danced, and chanted about abortion pills while passing out 1000 amazing flyers to educate the public – DUH!
A colorful infographic titled ''LEARN THE FACTS ABOUT MEDICATION ABORTION!'' It explains the safety and legality of medication abortion, including key points like its availability since 2000, FDA approval, and its widespread use with no serious complications. The bottom section highlights reasons for choosing medication abortion, such as safety, privacy, and convenience. The content includes casual, supportive language with a message from ''Team Abortion Access Front.'' [[link removed]] A continuation of the infographic with the title ''HOW TO ACCESS MEDICATION ABORTION WHEREVER YOU LIVE.'' It lists resources and organizations, including Plan C Pills, Aid Access, and I Need An A, that help people navigate abortion options. The infographic encourages users to scan a QR code to visit the provided websites and reiterates the legality of obtaining medication abortion through the mail. The tone is informative and supportive, with a focus on accessibility. [[link removed]]
We performed at a feminist variety show, in marches, hotel bars, cocktail parties, the LOOOOOONG lines to get into the DNC -- anywhere we could inform people about what is at stake for abortion in this election.
Top Left: A group of six individuals dressed as large white pills, each labeled with black letters to spell out ''MISO MISO.'' They are performing a choreographed kick in front of the Illinois Center. The background includes a protest sign that reads ''We're Abortion AF.'' Top Right: Two people on stage, both dressed in vibrant, flamboyant outfits with pink and purple themes. One is holding a microphone and a piece of paper while speaking, and the other is smiling. Bottom Left: A person wearing a gray pill costume labeled ''MIFE'' on stage, standing in front of a podium that reads ''CARE IN ACTION.'' The backdrop is titled ''THE HOUSE OF POWER'' with a pink and purple color scheme. The text below the QR code reads, ''Kick the government out of your pants.'' Top Right: A group of people standing in front of a large, inflatable white uterus attached to a building. They are smiling and posing for the photo. Bottom Left: A person in a blue suit and white wig stands confidently with a group of people dressed as large white pills, each labeled ''MIFE'' and ''MISO.'' They are standing in an urban setting, possibly near a stadium. Bottom Right: A group of people, also dressed as white pill costumes labeled ''MIFE'' and ''MISO,'' are walking together on a sunny street, smiling and interacting with each other. [[link removed]]
Mife and the Misotones made sure that abortion stayed front and center, and reminded everyone that abortion isn’t a bad word! What convention doesn’t need some scrappy pro-abortion dancing to shake things up?
Three people are seated on stage in front of a large screen displaying the title ''LOVETT OR LEAVE IT'' in bold green letters. The person on the left, holding a microphone and some papers, is engaging in a conversation with the other two. The person in the middle is speaking into a microphone, wearing a hoodie and plaid pants, while the person on the right listens attentively. The stage has a casual setup with small tables, a few drinks, and a black backdrop. [[link removed]]
And to ice the abortion messaging cake, Lizz repped hard for Abortion AF, and her home state of Minnesota (maybe a little too much Minnesota – those people do that!) at a live taping of the podcast Lovett or Leave It!
AAF could not have had any more fun in Chicago, and we even managed to piss off all of the right people [[link removed]] -- a true sign of success! We can’t wait to do it again. DONATE HERE TO KEEP THIS POP GROUP OUT ON THE ROAD!
