With Sister District’s support, we helped to elect Ann Johnson Stewart in 2020.

John,

We are happy to announce we are endorsing former state Senator Ann Johnson Stewart in a special election on November 5th! But with the election right around the corner, we don’t have a lot of time to organize for victory in this important race.

After we helped elect Ann to Minnesota’s 44th Senate district in 2020, she decided not to seek reelection when Senate districts were redrawn in 2022. But now she’s back!

In addition to being an experienced legislator, Ann is a civil engineer, professor at the University of Minnesota, and a small business owner. With a proven track record of community leadership and delivering results, Ann is ready to bring her experience and passion back to the Minnesota Senate.

Now you might be wondering why this race is so important. Here’s why:

  • This special election will be the only state Senate race on the ballot for Minnesotans this November.
  • In 2022, the Minnesota Senate flipped blue, ushering a Democratic trifecta — but only with a one seat majority.
  • This razor thin majority will be at stake if we’re not able to elect Ann.

We must hold this seat to give Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan — who will become governor when Governor Tim Walz is elected as vice president — a governing majority.

John, we helped elect Ann in 2020, and now we’re going to do it again, together.

Please chip in $24.24 to boost Ann’s campaign for Senate District 45 and protect Minnesota’s one-seat blue majority.

Thank you!
