REAMS REPORT

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of in-state events, and as August comes to an end, it’s clear there is plenty of work to do here in the nation’s capital.

I recently traveled to Houston, Texas, for the National Conservative Energy Summit ([link removed]) hosted by the Conservative Energy Network (CEN). The Summit brings together conservative clean energy advocates, policy experts and technical specialists from across the nation. I moderated a fireside chat with Rep. Randy Weber (R-Texas), where we explored why he felt compelled to join the Conservative Climate Caucus (CCC) and the role Texas plays in the national effort to reduce emissions without compromising energy independence. The discussion underscored the importance of Texas in the broader clean energy landscape, highlighting how the state’s all-of-the-above energy policies can serve as a model for balancing economic growth with environmental stewardship.

From Houston, the Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Forum communications team and I headed to Asheville, North Carolina, for the Conservative Climate Foundation’s (CCF) 3rd Annual Communicators’ Retreat. The retreat brought together nearly 50 U.S. House and Senate communicators, industry leaders and partners focused on crafting and amplifying a conservative approach to clean energy policy. I moderated a panel about messaging clean energy tax credits to conservative audiences, a concept CRES is very familiar with. Our panel discussed how these incentives are benefiting red districts across the country and the need for clear, consistent messaging as we work to broaden support for American-made clean energy solutions and innovation.

As we wrap up the last week of recess, it’s time to shift our focus back to the pressing work at hand. The CRES team is gearing up for a busy fall, with our sights set on advancing policies that enhance grid security, increase energy production and reduce global emissions. We’re committed to keeping Republican leaders engaged and equipped to tackle these challenges. The stakes are high, and the opportunities are great. Unfortunately, government red tape, outdated processes and duplicative regulations are hindering the United States’ energy industry.
