Housing Working Group Meeting!

Housing is a massive issue in Santa Fe and our Housing Working Group aims to work on solutions! We want to approach housing from multiple angles: Tenant unions, mutual aid for the unhoused, fighting source of income discrimination on a state level, coalition building. And we would love for you to join us in this work!

?

We will have the our first meeting this Sunday at 11:30 am, at CHOMP Food Hall. If you are a member in good standing and want to help with this work, please join us!?

?

If you are unable to make this meeting but still interested in joining the group, please email us at [email protected]. We look forward to working with you :)

Forest Hike Sunday!

Join Santa?Fe?DSA member Sam Hitt for a forest hike on the morning of Sunday 9/8. Meet at 9:00am at the?PERA parking lot next to Kakawa Chocolate to car pool. See how the forest is adapting to climate change and learn about forest resiliency. This will be a short hike with some steep downhill. Back by noon. Bring water and rain gear. Questions? Call Sam at 505-577-2944.

Fight Anti-Trans Hate Coming to Santa Fe!

Far-right MAGA organizations, including Moms for Liberty and the New Mexico Freedoms Alliance, are hosting an anti-trans detransitioners panel on September 12, at La Fonda on the Plaza. Events like this one promote junk science and enable further hate and violence against our trans siblings.

?

We're asking members to contact La Fonda and the President of the La Fonda Foundation Board to tell them that hatred for trans folks has no place in Santa Fe! If you want to lend your voice to this effort, please see this Google Doc for ways to contact La Fonda to apply pressure on them!

Date Change: Benefit Concert for Alianza!

The concert benefitting Alianza Tenant Union has been moved to Friday, September 27, at 6pm. The concert will take place at Our Lady of Light Community Center?in Lamy. If you've never been,? this is a wonderful space to hear music!

?

Join us for a night of classical show pieces and Spanish labor folk songs. More details in the upcoming weeks!

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
