Prince William County Human Resources is gearing up for its second Career Expo, a premier networking and hiring event designed to connect job seekers with diverse career opportunities within the county! The expo will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. This unique event includes more than 20 participating agencies with vacancies for full-time, part-time, seasonal jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities. *Office of Community Safety Hosts First Listening Session [ [link removed] ]*
The Office of Community Safety (OCS) kicked off its series of listening sessions on Monday, August 26, at the Chinn Park Library with a focus on gathering community feedback on transportation and pedestrian safety. During the session, residents shared their observations, concerns and recommendations on road safety, multi-modal transportation, pedestrian safety and more, which will be used to inform the wider strategic goals and activities of the OCS. The next listening session will be held on Sept. 30 in Manassas and the topic is mental health and wellness.

The Route 28-Yorkshire Multimodal Corridor Study, which aimed to identify potential pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements in the Yorkshire corridor, was recently completed. The study explored how Route 28 — a major, auto-centric road with few pedestrian crossings — and connecting roadways can be reimagined to create public spaces that better meet the needs of people walking, biking and taking transit.

Featherstone trail project [ [link removed] ]
*Prince William County Leaders Break Ground on Featherstone Trail Project* [ [link removed] ]
Recently, Prince William County celebrated the groundbreaking for construction of the new Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge Trail Segment coming to Woodbridge. The new pedestrian trail will be approximately one mile consisting of natural surface trails, wetland boardwalk and two pedestrian bridges that will traverse protected landscape inhabited by protected plant and animal species. The trail will become part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, which stretches from the mouth of the Potomac River at the Chesapeake Bay to the Allegheny Highlands in Pennsylvania. The project, nine years in the making, will complete the connection between Leesylvania State Park to Belmont Bay and is expected to be completed in October 2025.
