It was in the mid-60’s here in Charlotte when I woke up this morning—which was exciting, because that burst of crisp, cool air means that Fall is finally around the corner. I am unbelievably ready for hoodie season.
But the shift in temperature also means that it’s after Labor Day. There are, as of today, just nine weeks left in the 2024 election season. And that means that, for us, it’s go time.
Traditionally, after Labor Day is when the majority of voters start really tuning into the election. Both parties have had their conventions, summer vacation is over, and the airwaves become even more flooded with campaign videos than they already were. That means that this is the moment where we have to really kick things into gear and go all out to get our message in front of the people who need to hear it.
And especially with North Carolina getting renewed national attention as a Presidential battleground, we’re going to have to fight hard just to be heard over the noise about Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, Josh Stein, and Mark Robinson.
And getting through that noise is important for all of us. Our campaign has been working hard to show the voters we need to win back in rural NC that Democrats are fighting for them, and the rising tide that creates will help to put not just our campaign over the top, but every Democratic campaign up and down the ballot.
In these critical final weeks, we need to have the resources to rise above and shout from the rooftops that our party is the one working to invest in our communities and create opportunity for every North Carolinian.
