Dear friend of OpenSecrets,

Volatility is the new normal, and everyone is thinking about what the future will look like. But even with uncertainty surrounding the elections — how we'll vote, and in the case of the primaries, when we'll vote — we do know we will continue to elect our leaders through a democratic process.

We also know that more and more people will be getting their campaign information from online sources. To that end, OpenSecrets provides the most comprehensive, dependable data on money's influence in politics, and works to uphold an open and accountable political system, where a free and effective press underscores the people's trust in our democracy.

In challenging times we need to be unified on the facts. OpenSecrets is nonpartisan, trusted, and we don't fan the flames — we give you straight up data, news and analysis in the public interest. Collecting and digging through the data isn’t easy and that’s why on May 5th, the Center for Responsive Politics will be participating in #GivingTuesdayNow ([link removed]) , to ask for your help.

We know we're stronger when we work together, and we hope you’ll join with us to safeguard this valuable resource for the public.
Sincerely,

Sheila Krumholz
Executive Director
Center for Responsive Politics
