Clap for Our Carers
**A message from City Council Deputy Leader Cllr Sally Longford:**
sally longford
The weekly Clap For Our Carers event is happening this evening at 8pm to thank those who are working tirelessly on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic.
Im delighted that officers from Notts Police will be joining councillors to clap outside the Cherry Trees care home in Bestwood tonight. Well be lighting up the Council House and ringing the Little John bell once again to show that Nottingham cares about our carers.
It means so much to our staff. I would encourage you all to join your community this evening to show your support and join in with the applause. Clap from your front door, window or balcony, but please remember to follow social distancing measures by keeping two metres apart from others not in your household.
I would also like to join people across the city and the UK in wishing Captain Tom Moore a very happy 100th birthday. He has raised more than 30m for the NHS which is an amazing and much appreciated achievement.
