John, This Labor Day, I want to reflect on what strides we have made to uplift working families. One of my key priorities is to promote economic growth by increasing wages, creating more opportunities, defending workers’ rights, and improving the lives of Marylanders. So far, we have invested in both education and infrastructure that will help boost opportunities for Marylanders across the state. It will ensure that we have a future made for success. I come from a Union family so I know this to be true — unions and working families represent the backbone of Maryland’s economy, and together with organized labor, our administration is working hard for work, wages, and wealth in our state. Without a strong middle class, we cannot have a strong Maryland. This Labor Day, I am grateful to see the progress we have made as a state to boost our economy and make for a middle class that can continue to grow.
