🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day 2024 to the Honorable Members of America's Workforce! 🇺🇸 To my brothers and sisters who power this great nation with your hard work, Today, we celebrate you—the workers, the unions, the backbones of America. As a candidate for the California State Assembly, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the generations of workers who have fought tirelessly to secure the rights we enjoy today. Labor Day is not just a day off; it is a tribute to the strength, tenacity, and unwavering spirit of American workers who have stood up, organized, and demanded better. Labor unions are the reason we have an eight-hour workday, weekends, safer workplaces, and fair wages. It was through their courage and determination that we saw the emergence of a 9 to 5 workforce—an achievement that is often taken for granted today but was fought for with blood, sweat, and tears. Unions have historically been, and continue to be, the defenders of workers’ rights, ensuring that every American has a fair shot at a decent living, safe working conditions, and a dignified retirement. I know the significance of these hard-earned rights because I come from humble beginnings, just like many of you. My family has lived the struggle, the triumphs, and the setbacks of working-class America. I understand what it means to need a job not just for yourself but for your family—to put food on the table, to afford healthcare, to send your kids to school. I understand the fear of not being able to make ends meet and the frustration when your voice is not heard. I understand the importance of having a representative who not only listens but fights for you. When I say that I stand with you, I mean it with every fiber of my being. If elected to the California State Assembly, I commit to being a steadfast ally for labor unions and every worker in our state. I pledge to fight for stronger protections, fair wages, and safe working conditions because I believe that every worker deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I will advocate for policies that empower unions to continue their critical work and expand their influence so that no worker feels abandoned or without representation. Statistics show that unionized workers earn on average 11.2% more than their non-unionized counterparts. This is not just a number; it is a reflection of the real, tangible benefits that unions bring to their members—better wages, better benefits, and better job security. Unions are the reason millions of American families have been able to achieve a middle-class lifestyle, and it is crucial that we protect and strengthen these institutions. We must continue to build a society where every worker's voice is not only heard but is a powerful force for change. I want you to know that I see you, I hear you, and I am with you. I will not rest until every worker in California—and across this great nation—is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. You are my people, and I am your champion! Together, in solidarity and unity, we can build a better future where every labor worker’s voice is heard and protected. On this Labor Day, let us remember the history of our movement and commit ourselves to the ongoing fight for justice, fairness, and equality for all workers.
