Hey team – Happy Labor Day!
On this Labor Day, we take time to celebrate the incredible contributions of America's workforce. Our workforce forms the backbone of our economy and drives innovation and progress nationwide.
Yet, it is undeniable that many American workers and their families are struggling. From rebuilding after COVID-19, to fighting inflation, to battling against the unfair trade practices of our competitors, countless families are living paycheck to paycheck, and too many workers face the fear of job insecurity. I was proud to work on legislation, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, that brings relief to families everywhere.
And I won’t stop fighting to help rebuild our economy in a way that benefits everyone, not just the wealthiest few. With wages and benefits stagnating, my focus remains on fostering an economy that provides security, fairness, and dignity for all working families. That is my promise to the American people in Congress.
The American workforce would not be where it is today without the incredible contributions of our labor unions. We must honor the hard-earned victories of the American labor movement and continue to build on their successes. As long as I have the privilege of serving in Congress, I will be committed to advocating for workers' rights and striving for a fairer future.
This Labor Day, let's all take a moment to recommit ourselves to supporting the hardworking families who make our country strong.
