It is bigger than any individual — it keeps our neighbors housed, enables hard working families to provide for their children, and grants our seniors a safe and stable retirement.
Happy Labor Day, friend!
The Labor movement’s roots run deep in San Diego County, and unions have been at the forefront of our collective progress toward true equity for decades.
The worker’s rights movement is bigger than any individual — it keeps our neighbors housed, enables hard working families to provide for their children, and grants our seniors a safe and stable retirement.
District Four is the most diverse district in San Diego County. And when we make progress on workers’ rights, that progress uplifts us all.
I’ve been proud to stand in solidarity with our workers time and again. Just last year, I stood alongside striking MTS workers demanding a fair contract from Transdev, and only a few months ago I led a resolution on the Board to support our healthcare workers at Kaiser.
Unions are the backbone of the labor movement not just in San Diego, but nationwide. As we honor the progress made so far, let’s commit to standing with our workers as they fight for the respect and benefits they deserve.
