Happy Labor Day, John!
We all know Connecticut’s history is long and storied, and our role at the forefront of the labor movement and workers rights is no different. And as you probably also know, we love sharing historic facts that define our state, with you.

For example, did you know Bridgeport’s Fanny Crosby wrote the song “Eight Hours” which became the anthem of the eight hour workday movement?
Or that in 1842, Hartford factory workers organized one of the first strikes by women in U.S. history?
And in 1899, Connecticut passed one of the nation’s first workplace safety laws.
Today, your CT Democrats continue to advocate and fight for workers rights, fair wages, and safe working conditions. Our Democratic led legislature has passed labor laws like increasing our minimum wage , securing paid family leave , and ensuring your workplace safety.
And we will continue to advocate, fight for, and uphold Connecticut’s legacy supporting the every-day American worker.
Your CT Dems hope you enjoy this unofficial end of summer, and join us in celebrating the laborers who came before us to improve our working life.
Sincerely,
Your CT Dems
P.S. Your contribution helps us continue the fight for workers' rights, electing Democrats who will always champion the American worker. [[link removed]]
