Friend,

As we celebrate Labor Day and the important contribution of workers and our
progress on worker rights, we must also confront the relentless anti-worker,
anti-union attacks.

Our commitment to securing racial, economic, and social justice for all includes
undocumented workers, the most vulnerable members of our workforce often denied
basic protections and rights.

A promising development is the new process introduced by the Department of
Homeland Security (DHS), offering temporary deportation relief and work permits
for undocumented workers involved in labor disputes. While this is a step forward, our fight for justice continues.

Our labor laws, weakened by a Supreme Court decision in 2002, deny undocumented
workers the right to back pay and other protections if they are unfairly
dismissed for union involvement, leaving them exposed to employer abuses when
they courageously take collective action.

We refuse to let this injustice go unchallenged. At NILC-IJF, we are fighting for meaningful reforms at the local, state, and
federal levels to ensure that every worker, regardless of immigration status, is
protected under the law.

We are committed to securing stronger protections so all workers can advocate
for their rights without fear of retaliation or deportation. With your support,
together, we can make a real difference in the fight for workers' rights and
justice.

Friend, your donation today will directly support our
efforts to protect all workers, challenge exploitative practices, and ensure
that no one is left behind.
