It’s Labor Day, John. And while that means barbecues, sales, and a long weekend for some, today represents a long history of workers standing up for their rights.
The first Labor Day in 1882 wasn’t just a holiday -- it was a day of protest and solidarity. Thousands of workers took to the streets, demanding better wages, safer working conditions, and respect for the labor that built this nation.
It was a day born out of struggle, dedicated to the belief that every worker deserves dignity and fair treatment.
Nowadays, those same workers wouldn’t even have today off. And that’s not the only injustice we’re still fighting against.
Too many workers are still facing unsafe conditions, insultingly low wages, and a lack of respect in the workplace. The holiday’s true meaning can be overshadowed by sales and leisure, but we have the power to reclaim its spirit.
If you’re ready to stand up and fight injustice, add your name today and join the movement for workers’ rights. We can’t make a difference without you: [link removed]
