Happy Labor Day, friends!

Today is not just a well-deserved break from work and school, but it’s also an opportunity to honor the incredible contributions that workers across our great state of Colorado—and the entire nation—make every day.

From the fields of the Eastern Plains to the bustling tech hubs of Denver and Boulder, to the ski resorts in our majestic mountains, everyday Coloradans make our state such a wonderful place.

As Secretary of State, I believe that no person should have to choose between a day’s pay or standing in an eight-hour line to vote. Workers in Colorado are the backbone of our state, and they must have their voices heard in our elections. I also believe in collective bargaining, the right to unionize, and a fair wage.

The Labor Movement has done so much for our state and nation, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and reasonable hours for workers.

As you enjoy your long weekend—whether you’re hiking in the Rockies, attending a local festival, or simply spending time with loved ones—I hope you also find a moment to reflect on the contributions that workers have made to our state and how we can continue to support them in the future.
