Happy Labor Day!

A new Gallup poll released last week confirms a monumental shift in our culture: Americans' approval of labor unions is at its highest point since the 1960s. That is especially true among young people.

But we didn't need a poll to tell us that. We've seen it for ourselves on the picket line. 

The Labor Movement is my political home. It's where I learned to organize, communicate with people, and win for working people. I took that movement with me to the State Senate, and as your Labor Chair, we have made tremendous progress.

I want to raise the standards for all workers to make it easier to organize, save for a rainy day, and live a full and dignified life. To do that, we have:

• Raised and indexed the minimum wage
• Granted historic new labor protections to farm workers and domestic workers
• Expanded prevailing wage for construction and climate work
• Set new safety standards across sectors 
• Banned captive audience meetings 

To win a New York that works for working people, we have to organize at every venue - the shop floor, in the courts, in the legislature, and at the ballot box. 

All our wins are because I answer to working families instead of the bosses. Can you pitch in a grassroots donation to help us continue our work?
