Friend,
Every day is a reminder that our health, safety, and livelihoods are determined by the actions -- or inaction -- of our elected officials.
While we know the presidential election in November has significant consequences, to stay the least, the COVID-19 crisis is putting the influence of state-level elected officials on full display. From enforcing statewide closures that help keep our communities safe to deciding whether abortion access remains accessible, state legislators and governors hold the reins.
At NIRH, we envision a future where members of all communities can access the health care they need, and are represented by elected officials who work towards that reality. The following resources can help us fight to keep our elections safe, fair, and ensure the highest possible turnout.
Election Updates
Check out election updates for every state from Rock the Vote, including postponements and changes to voting process
The Pew Research Center released a poll this week finding that most people expect elections disrupted by COVID, and the vast majority support voting by mail

Take action
Call on your Senators to pass funding for states to implement mail-in-voting, expanded early voting, and other reforms to allow voters to safely cast their ballots.
Bonus action -- Protect abortion access and stay entertained all day!
Independent abortion clinics need our help. They provide most of the abortion care in this country, and during this pandemic, the average independent clinic will need $50,000 per month to keep its doors open. Operation Save Abortion is a star-studded telethon airing all day TODAY on Instagram Live to support the Abortion Care Network. Tune in on the Abortion Access Front Instagram and donate to KeepOurClinics.org!
Thank you for your continued support, community, and for fighting for a world in which we all have the power to control our own bodies, lives, and futures. That world is possible, and we can make it happen, together.
All the best,
Andrea Miller
