I want to wish you and your loved ones a happy Labor Day, team.

Today we remember the workers who fought tooth and nail to secure labor rights for working Americans. Social Security, the 40-hour workweek, paid sick leave, and even weekends off — all of these protections and benefits wouldn't exist without the labor movement.

Labor Day is also about showing solidarity with the workers who are fighting for safe and fair working conditions all across our nation today. I'll always push to build an economy that empowers workers and gives them the rights and respect they deserve.

As long as I am in Congress, I will fight alongside unions and working families to raise the minimum wage, defend collective bargaining, and protect Social Security. I hope you'll join me today in celebrating the progress made by the American labor movement and recommit to continuing the fight for working people.
