Hey folks _
I wanted to write you a short note today about Labor Day. I'm down in Buena Vista getting ready to walk in the Buena Vista Labor Day Parade, and later today, I will join many Hampton Roads supporters and union members for my friend Congressman Bobby Scott’s annual Labor Day cookout. But before I do all that, I wanted to take a second to acknowledge why we have this day "off" and what we're celebrating.
Labor unions in Virginia and across America are essential to protecting the rights of our workers across industries. As someone who grew up working in my dad’s union-organized ironworking shop, I know the labor movement is part of our American success story — we band together to have one another's backs, and through that togetherness, we can create a rising tide that lifts all boats. If you're with me — proud to support workers and labor unions — add your name today to say so! |
