John,
“Without labor nothing prospers.”
That was said by Sophocles almost 2,500 years ago, and still remains true.
But right now, many workers today still face low wages, no or limited benefits, and harsh, sometimes inhumane working conditions.
And as technology threatens to take over jobs while at the same time promising to uplift marginalized communities, we must remember technologies will not speak up for these communities. Communities will be left to speak up for themselves, and we must help amplify their voices.
We must renew our commitment to the right to dignity for all. And with your support, I’ll ensure workers always come first. If you can, chip in $3 or whatever you can to make sure our next Governor leads from workers out.
As Governor, I’ll always advocate for the right to collective bargaining. We need to ensure that wages and benefits keep pace with costs in our state. And just as importantly, I will ensure Californians are given dignity and respect for their hard work.
Let this Labor Day serve as a call to recommit ourselves to restore and sustain the value and dignity of work.
Pitch in $3 to power our campaign right now and help ensure California restores itself as a bastion of worker’s rights – now and forever.
Thank you,
Betty
