Friend,
I wanted to reach out on Labor Day and remind you of what is at stake for working families this November. Of course, Labor Day is an opportunity to celebrate the hard-won progress of the labor movement in protecting the rights of workers. I'm especially proud to have supported the CHIPS and Science Act , the Inflation Reduction Act , and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law , each of which has helped to grow America's workforce by creating good-paying jobs.
But this is no time to rest on our laurels. President Trump spent his four years in the White House undermining workers while championing tax breaks for the uber-wealthy. [[link removed]]
His judicial appointees [[link removed]] have steadily made it harder for American workers to organize.
He opposed [[link removed]] increases in the federal minimum wage, denying 40 million workers a much-needed raise.
He rolled back [[link removed]] critical workplace safety protections.
And he prevented [[link removed]] millions of workers from being compensated for their overtime labor.
I could go on and on. Suffice it to say, American workers can't afford to see Trump back in the Oval Office.
Conversely, Kamala Harris has a track record of supporting working families. In the Senate, she fought for workplace protections against extreme heat [[link removed]] . She broke down barriers that prevented workers from organizing. Her running mate, Tim Walz, is a former union member himself with a history of showing up at picket lines [[link removed]] to support striking workers.
This Labor Day, I'm speaking out about the choice facing American workers on Election Day. And I'm raising money for Kamala Harris' pro-worker campaign. Will you chip in to make sure American workers have an ally in the White House next year? [[link removed]]
Thanks so much,
— Jim
