Happy Labor Day, folks!

Today, we celebrate the hardworking men and women who built our country and honor everything we have achieved through the labor movement. 🇺🇸

Before I came to Congress, I dedicated my entire adult life to fighting for labor rights. Working as a labor activist, I saw firsthand how vital fair pay and safe working conditions are for our community.

I'm proud to have stood alongside firefighters, first responders, meatpackers, and grocery store workers, ensuring they can collectively bargain for better wages, benefits, and safer workplaces.

Union jobs are the backbone of the middle class and essential to building strong and thriving communities. That’s why I’m committed to championing workers' rights in Congress for people in Central and Southern Illinois and across our great nation.

I was honored to co-sponsor the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize Act. This comprehensive bipartisan legislation is crucial for protecting workers' rights to unionize, ensuring higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions.
