Happy Labor Day!

I want to take a moment to say thank you, AFSCME family. Our fight for freedom is front and center, and unions are an essential part of the national conversation. That’s because of your dedication and activism.

Last week, new polling released by Gallup revealed 70% of Americans approve of labor unions. This is the eighth year in a row that public support has been above 60%.

No doubt about it: People know life is better in a union. It means a bigger paycheck, better health care coverage, a more secure retirement, a safer workplace and a lot more.

As we celebrate the contributions unions make to the strength of the economy and the nation, let’s recommit ourselves to the fight ahead. Let’s seize the momentum we have. Let’s keep organizing and growing our union.
